Thanks for reading my blog. This blog is going to be used to capture the steps I take to start selling my mom's homemade Whoopie Pies.
If you are not familiar with the deliciousness of a Whoopie Pie, you can read up about them here. I have never heard of a Whoopie Pie being referred to as a BFO(Big Fat Oreo), but it's on the internet so it must be true. While I attended school at CMU I was confronted with the "gob". The gob was just as delicious as the Maine Whoopie Pie I grew up with, but they were a little smaller.
As I look around and see boutique cupcake shops, vegan muffin shops, and French bakeries, I can't help but think that there is a need to introduce the Whoopie Pie to the northwest. I'm going to work on figuring out how you start selling a delicious item to the general public. I'm fortunate enough that I don't have to find the delicious item I want to sell, that is going to be my mother's Whoopie Pie, but I have absolutely no experience in selling a food product. I'm hoping this will be a fun adventure, and we'll see how long it takes.
My initial expectations are that it's going to take me roughly $500 to get a license, get a booth, and sell my first whoopie pie. So let's see how it goes...
